The Club
We play our home games at Aylesford Sports School, where we also train on a weekly basis. With our recent success and continued aspirations, the team would ideally like to train more often than the one session a week we currently do. However, with suitable facilities hard to come by and costs prohibitive this has proved difficult to organise. We currently pay around £2000 a year to hire our sports hall. This also means that in match weeks we have to forego our training session. Despite all the players paying subscription fees, these barely scratch the surface of what is truly required to allow the club to develop and grow.
Over the years away matches have taken The Rebels as far afield as Cardiff, Gloucester, Sheffield and Telford, often with overnight stops for which the players have had to pay for themselves.
As with any sport specialised equipment is required. Every player must use a bespoke-made sports wheelchair costing between £1500 & £3000 which then requires constant maintenance with specialist parts. As this is a requirement the club must fund each new member wishing to join the team.
